Recently, the popularity of moisture-resistant countertops has increased dramatically. This is due, first and foremost, to the fact that people have become more careful in choosing materials for their future furniture. After all, these days it is possible to choose materials that will serve for years. And the countertop for the kitchen or even more so the bathroom these days also found new requirements for it.

Moisture resistant countertop allows you to extend the life of the kitchen itself, because it is the most important kitchen surface and you do not really want to change it often. Moisture resistant countertop allows you to prolong the life of the kitchen itself, because it is the most important kitchen surface and you do not really want to change it often. But after all, if the countertop is swollen - it is a definite replacement, as it not only loses its functionality, but also becomes dangerous. Inside the material bacteria, mold and fungus begin to multiply, which can get into the food, and then - in the body!

Another important aspect in which the countertop is required to be highly resistant to moisture is design. In recent years, the bottom-mount sink has been gaining popularity as a technique to save space on the table and plus - adds modernity to the kitchen. With this type of installation, the ends of the countertop around the sink will have constant, direct contact with water, both cold and hot. And in this case, it is especially important that water does not get inside the countertop, destroying its structure and spoiling the mounting of the sink itself.

A bathroom countertop requires a particularly high level of moisture resistance. The times of small "Khrushchev" bathtubs are over, and now you can place almost all the necessary furniture for storing things in the bathroom. In this case, the countertop should be waterproof, because in the bathroom it is in contact not only with water, but also with steam and high humidity. All these are ideal conditions for the development of mould and fungus!

HPL countertops have long since passed all these tests and have proven to be more than effective. So what makes HPL moisture-resistant countertops really so?

Here's the secret. Moisture resistant HPL countertops do not have a cellular structure due to the material itself and the way it is produced. HPL is made from multiple layers of kraft paper, which is impregnated with thermosetting resins and baked into a slab under high temperature and pressure. It is during this process that the resins "seal" and bind together all possible, even the smallest pores within the kraft and decorative layer. Thus, water entering the surface or the face has no cavities where it could penetrate and create conditions for pathogenic flora or spoil the very structure of the tabletop.

HPL countertops are the perfect option for a durable kitchen countertop or bathroom countertop.
